Joe Takes the Road Less Traveled

Joe Gregorio: I start at Google at the end of this month

In selecting a title for this post, I agonized briefly over changing Less to More.  After all, Google seems to be hoovering in all of my friends, one by one.

Then I reread both Ch-ch-changes and Robert Frost’s original, and I believe I made the right choice.


First of all, congrats to Joe. 

But, there’s more to Frost’s poem than meets the eye.  It’s really about a guy who more or less randomly decides between two equal choices ("... worn them really about the same").  He then pictures himself late in life forlornly (i.e., "... with a sigh") justifying his random decision in a more courageous light.

I don’t think this interpretation is the one you mean to direct at Joe!
