Atom in a sea of RSS

Slides for an internal presentation.

I was invited in order to help advocate that certain applications provide Atom feeds in addition to RSS feeds.  I’ve declined to do so, as I now feel that every feed should be provided in exactly one feed format, preferably with an x.0 version number.  If your feed is valid and you are aware of — and have a strategy of coping with — the limitations of the feed format you selected, peace be with you.

Note: at the moment, it works in Firefox.  It doesn’t work in IE, and until I figure out why, I presume that it is my fault that it does not.  I’ll look into it when I get a chance, but for now LazyWeb suggestions are welcome.

Since you opened the browser can of worms, I can confirm that it doesn’t work in IE7 or Opera, but does in Safari. It doesn’t quite look right in Safari but that may be more to my pitifully low screen resolution and not a design incompatibility.

But it’s a good presentation nonetheless.

There’s a typo in your presentation. It’s on the initial Atom example slide with “managingeditor.” You forgot to include a closing >.
