You might like to point out to the ECMA worthies that Microsoft should also submit a working draft copy in the form of the source tree of a file reader/writer/converter implementing the proposed standard, under the Microsoft Permissive or Community License and located at sourceforge.net, thus allowing and encouraging feedback on its good and bad points.

Of course, Sun, IBM and Novell could gang up on poor, poor, pitiful Microsoft to persuade it to allow them to write such a working draft copy under the LGPL as a read-write filter for OpenOffice.org 2.x.
