Testing MoinMoin 1.2.1
I've installed and configured a test version of the Atom wiki using MoinMoin 1.2.1. The intent is to cut over so that Acess Control can be used to require valid logins on selected pages in an attempt to reduce WikiSpam.
At the moment, POSTs are disabled on the test version in order to prevent any possibility of corruption of the live data. I also have complete backups.
First observations:
- Recent changes appears to be compatible with MoinMoin 1.0.
- UserPreferences is not picking up the old logins. (This also implies that for the moment, you get the default CSS)
- The problem in the RSS feed where MoinMoin gets the timezone offset wrong that was present in 1.0 is still present in 1.2.1. Perhaps this time I will submit a patch.
I haven't done much more than installing and editing the moin_config file. If you see anything amiss, please leave a comment.
Do you want me to mirror this on AtomWiki.org ?
I can also do hosting of the main site, but I would like to know the bandwidth you are getting first.
Keep up the great work!

Posted by Ric Johnson atSome jerk put up some wikispam on the pront page of the AtomWiki- they deleted eveything and put up a link to Twistedmetalonline dot com .
I tried to revert the changes, but you may want to clean up.
Posted by Ric Johnson atAt work I have been using wakkawiki. It also has the ACL page features, uses MySQL as a store, and is PHP based. The wiki formatting rules are some different. Somewhere I thought you said you where looking for a PHP based wiki. Give it a look.

FWIW, I’ve been using 1.2.1 for about two weeks; it’s much better than 1.0. I especially like the modular templating — makes it much easier to customise — and the ability to leverage HTTP authentication (although it doesn’t like Digest auth, for some reason; must file a bug). Great software!
