Preview prototyped

OK, an initial implementation of my preview required functionality is complete.  Other than requiring a preview, most of you should not see any different behavior.  I've also relaxed my spam throttle to allow three comments - this allows the first to go through and two warnings before someone is temporarily shut down.

Now I plan to watch and see what action is warranted next.

Your mandatory preview works quite well.  I really like it.  I'm sure I will have fewer typos in a system like this.

Did you see my new bondage site?

Heh, I'm going to ignore that warning...

Checking it out!

I'd like to see a self moderated system, where readers vote on comments, so anything of poor quality (SPAM, etc...) just "goes away". Kinda like the /. moderation.

If you want /., you could just post on /. (or k5 for that matter), or run slashcode on your own blog.  Sam already moderates comments, I doubt that he wants his readers doing their own moderation.

Cool!

Very similar to the solution I've been using for a while now. But my hidden field uses an SHA1 hash and nonce, making it a little harder to circumvent.

Spam Update

Based on the lively discussions of the past few days, it certainly appears that requiring a preview does not impede the flow of discussion.  Cool. Spam also is way down, despite my having removed and relaxed a number of other defenses.  Notably, my spa... [more]

Hmm, every spam count > 2 per day seems too much.

Best thing would be zero, but this day will never come :(
