Dinner on Thursday?
Tomorrow, the wiki will be six weeks old. It has been joined by a weblog, an mailing list, and an irc channel.
This coming week is time for some good, old fashioned, face to face discusssions. I'm going to meet with various weblogging related people who reside in or near the greater San Francisco bay area. My agenda is pretty full, but I have reserved Thursday night(the 31st) for a webloggers dinner. Leave a comment if you are interested.
The city, the city. Babylon by the Bay. Chinatown. North Beach. The Mission. I'm an expert. Just name the cuisine, locale, type of environment. Price range, IBM picking up the tab? How many people? Phil Pearson will be in town.

... You know... tomorrow is Tuesday and we haven't chosen a place yet!
Anyone?!
Posted by Kevin Burton atMarc, why don't you suggest a place. Maybe a Dim Sum place in China Town. We can walk over to North Beach area afterward to grab a drink or shoot some pool at Savoy.

OK it's Tuesday afternoon PST and where's the man with the plan. Please don't tell me this is going to be a chaordic, self organizing effort!
Where's Sam? Call me at 415-296-9401.
Posted by Marc Canter atOK, how about Cafe Bastille in Belden place 7:30, Thurs? Its not too fancy and is downtown. The downstairs is relatively quiet or there is an outdoor area.

OK -we're going for Hunan on Sansome - 924 Sansome, right off Broadway - in beautiful downtown Barbary Coast SF - next to Chinatown and North beach. No time set yet - I'd say 6:30-7 to be safe..... lots of room there (not that much room at Cafe Bastille)

+1 Bastille
-1 Hunan on Sansome (too hard to get to from BART/Caltrain late at night)

Close to BART is better for me but either is ok.
but we must have a final decision by 4:00 pm PST before I get on the road.

Consensus here is Hunan. Based on an informal poll here, please count on eight additional visitors from the Santa Jose area driving up to dinner.

Oh, and can we make it start at 6:30? This gives the people with a red-eye an opportunity to make the first part of the meal.
