Blogs are the anti-popup? Yeah, until Newsgator ads started showing up in my InfoWorld RSS subscription. Now I get to pull down ads, Yaaay!!!

The only reason to say blogs are anti-popup is because of RSS. However nothing stops folks from inserting ads into RSS (especially with hosting providers like Blogger), they just won't be as annoying as popups.

Could be.  Several RSS aggregators are web-based, accept arbitrary HTML, and don't strip SCRIPT elements.  Many people (Lord knows why) still use IE without third-party popup blockers.  I'm surprised this hasn't been tried already.

Though instead of serving ads, it would be more fun to combine those facts with something like this:
