The only reason to say blogs are anti-popup is because of RSS. However nothing stops folks from inserting ads into RSS (especially with hosting providers like Blogger), they just won't be as annoying as popups.
Could be. Several RSS aggregators are web-based, accept arbitrary HTML, and don't strip SCRIPT elements. Many people (Lord knows why) still use IE without third-party popup blockers. I'm surprised this hasn't been tried already.

And it's not true. As an example, Macintouch has had text ads in their feed for a while now. The title of today's item is "Ad: Mac OS X Hints - the book". Nice and simple....
