I do want to comment on Gordon's call for simplicity. My thoughts on that are covered in the Evolution of Weblog API's, and this, it turns out, is pretty much what Don Box mean when he said "Humans matter". This is meant to be in stark constrast to statements by people that they see little requirement for human readability.
