In the name of interop?

The Axis dev team is debating putting this patch into the next release. I wonder what Dare would think?

While few things surprise me any more with respect to interop, this one does. Particularly, given item #7 in this list.

 A friend who shall remain nameless provided me enough clues to track down this Microsoft Knowledge Base Article which proports to provide a fix...
