>I grew up a few miles from there
really! so did I (palmer park, now just on the fringes of the Redskins' new stadium's parking lot), from '66 through '76. whereabouts were you?
-Steven
About 3 miles west of you, in a town named Cheverly.
Posted by Sam Ruby atno shit - I went to school in Cheverly, at St. Ambrose. Kindergarten too, Happy Acres (north side of 202, just west of the Giant Food). Small world!
I went to both of those schools too.
You've seen the house I grew up in. Across the playground from Happy Acres, there was a fence. On the side away from the baseball diamond, there was a spot where kids would crawl under the fence instead of going around. I lived across the street from that spot, and was one of those kids.
Sam, do you have a sister named Terri?
Posted by Steven Vore atYes.
Posted by Sam Ruby atI've got a kindergarten valentine from her in my old scrapbook
I'm not sure I want to know where this conversation will end up... ;)
Posted by Mark atSuffice it to say that it didn't work out. ;-)
Posted by Sam Ruby atI just think it's funny. If my mom hadn't happned to write the last names next to a couple of the cards - and only two of them have last names - this conversation would have been much shorter.
btw, my wife thinks it's funny too... and her name's *not* Terri.
Hello Steven,
I am touched your mom saved my valentine's card. Do you remember our kindergarden teacher? I think the assistant's name was Mrs. Doloff as she was Sam & I's next door neighbor. I have a 4 1/2 year old daughter who will be starting kindergarden this September who looks just like her momma. What have you been up to the last 33 years? Please reply by email to Rubyta@aol.com. Terri
